5 optimizations for a greener day

If there is one thing we learned in the Pai office, it is that Kermit was wrong …

It's really easy to be green … or at least a little greener.

When it comes to the environment, we can (and should) all do our part, especially on Earth Day – but that doesn't have to mean dramatic lifestyle changes.

Here are five simple steps to make everyday life a little greener:

  1. Shop local (and organic)

    Seasonal and local food is one of the easiest ways to minimize your carbon footprint. If you don't have a local grocery store, try online boxes or community programs that you can connect with local farmers and producers. Our PR manager Flo loves Farm Drop.

    The decision to use organic products also helps to reduce the effects of overland farming and pesticide use. However, if it is not possible to make your entire weekly shop organic, simply change the "Dirty Dozen".

  2. Go digital

    At Pai HQ, we always try to think before we click "Print", and it is becoming easier and easier to avoid wasting paper outside the office. Buy your favorite magazine as a digital download and send greetings with an online service such as "paperless" mail.

<li> <strong> <strong> Embracing reusable products </strong> </strong>
<p> Thanks to the 5-pence plastic bag fee in the UK (and our new Pai team tote bags, as modeled by Account Manager Silje), we can all say a little bit better about wasteful plastic bags. But did you know It is believed that an incredible 17 million barrels of oil a year are needed to meet the demand for plastic water bottles? </p>
<p> This is only in the United States – and does not take into account the energy that is required to recycle it. Remembering to carry a water bottle can really make a difference to the planet. </p>
<p> We like silicone-coated glass and stainless steel, but if you choose plastic, make sure it's BPA-free. </p>

<li> <strong> <strong> On your bike </strong> </strong>
<p> We took over the "Paicycle" office to reduce short car trips when we are in a hurry. Switching to a bike five times a week for a 10-mile trip can save up to 170 gallons of fuel. and creates no emissions. </p>
<p> It's also a great way to stay healthy. Swap one or two trips a week for two wheels (or two feet) and feel the benefits! </p>

<li> <strong> <strong> Unplug </strong> </strong>
<p> Save energy by unplugging devices as soon as they are fully charged and switching off devices on the wall – especially those that are usually permanently connected, e.g. B. microwaves, WiFi routers and game consoles. Don't forget to pull the plug out of the socket, however – take some time without a screen to go outside and enjoy nature! </p>
