Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a very real illness that can lead to physical and emotional drops in line with the waning weather.
This year, however, I take a half-full approach to the changing seasons and have found five reasons why we should all welcome autumn and winter!
1. 10 weeks to Christmas
Sorry, I don't want to scare you, but who doesn't love Christmas? Free time and lots of rest and relaxation with your loved ones – yes please!
2. Unusual food
Fall is the perfect time of year for crispy local British apples – so fill up and find a killer recipe for Apple Crumble!
Here at Pai headquarters, we have all been inspired by the Great British Bake Off and will improve our culinary skills and bring out some fabulous puds this season.
3. Sensitive skin relief
Cooler temperatures are actually good news for sensitive skin sufferers. Many skin allergies are triggered by heat. As long as you avoid excessive central heating, you should find that your skin behaves much better this time of year.
4th Lazy Sundays
When it rains outside, take it as a sign that it's time to treat yourself to a Sunday beauty session!
My mini facial routine consists of a long, deep cleansing (see my method here ), followed by Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin-Brightening Exfoliator and a few drops rose hips BioRegenerate Oil to finish. You will instantly have super smooth, soft and supple skin – this is the perfect preparation for the coming week.
5th tea time
I love my tea and at this time of year I drink more than my fair share!
If you suffer from urticaria like me, nettle tea should calm the skin from the inside. The high level of antioxidants in green tea is ideal for cleaning the skin, while peppermint tea helps crumble everything that Apple Crumble…
Is there something I missed? What are your favorite things about autumn and winter?
