What’s "Gradual Style"?

Every Pai product is made locally in West London, and we like to believe that we have a pretty good understanding of how a product is made. It is a process that we see every day!

However, it is easy to forget that the things we buy are not always made fairly or responsibly – and this is most common in the fashion industry.

The life cycle of a garment can be surprisingly short, with items sometimes being designed, manufactured, sold, and thrown away within a few weeks.

So fast that this is known as "Fast Fashion".

What is "Fast Fashion"?

For those of us who can afford to buy more than what we need, "Fast Fashion" refers to clothing that we often buy because it's cheap, not because we love it.

To make a garment that costs the buyer just a few pounds or dollars, companies rely on globalized mass production methods that sacrifice social and environmental values.

These manufacturing processes are often unethical; Human rights and security are threatened by poor, sometimes dangerous working conditions and very low wages.
